Do
I achieve a license through MAI?
Yes, your cosmetology license is separate from NACCAS and the
Department of Education. These governing bodies allow our ability
to accept government financial assistance for a student only.
The Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology is the governing body
thru which you will obtain a license for Cosmetology, Instructor
or the Nail Courses which is obtain by attending our Institute.
Your final test is done in Baton Rouge, at the Louisiana State
Board. Following a theory and practical examination and submission
of all credit hours you will be licensed thru the board.
Do you offer financial
aid?
Yes, we do offer financial aid and organized financing
options to meet your budgeting needs. Please schedule an appointment
with our financial officer to discuss options.
How
soon can I start?
MAI starts a course every 8 weeks. Please call for start dates.

you have only full time courses?
No MAI offers full-time, part-time and night time courses.
Will
you offer esthiology?
Yes.
Does
a cosmetologist practice only hair design?
No, as a cosmetologist you will be licensed to practice hair,
skin and nails. Although we do recommend specializing in your
area of interest cosmetology will license you for all versus
just nail or skin.
How
long are the courses?
1500 hours or 12- months for Cosmetology full-time, Manicuring
500 hours or 4-months full-time, Instructor Training 500 hours
or 4-months full-time.
